Roger Williams Endorsed by Basketball Legend Bob Knight
Prospective U.S. Senate Candidate Roger Williams was today endorsed by Hall of Fame basketball coach and basketball legend, Bob Knight.
Knight made his endorsement by saying, “As a coach and a teacher, I know that education is one of the most important issues facing our state. The Texas of tomorrow is being shaped in the classrooms of today. That’s why I’m proud to support my friend Roger Williams for the United States Senate. He’s not a politician. He’s a businessman and a problem-solver. And he will put Texas ahead by putting Texas children first.”
“I am proud to have Bob Knight’s endorsement. He has inspired many talented people over the years and helped many young people achieve their potential,” said Williams.
Roger Williams’ announced his exploratory committee in December. Roger is a former Texas secretary of state and a successful businessman. civic activities include serving on the Board of Trustees for the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University where he co-chairs the school’s capital fundraising campaign. Williams is also a member of the Texas Christian University Board of Trustees, his alma mater. He also serves on the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame Board of Directors as well as serving on the Admiral Nimitz Foundation Board of Directors in Fredericksburg, Texas.
Williams and his wife, Patty, reside in Weatherford and have two daughters.
