"When you run for Senate and try to cover a State as big as Texas you need the help of good friends. As I campaign around this state I will be proud to have some of the most accomplished sports legends Texas has ever produced standing beside me," said Roger Williams. "These champions will campaign with me and on my behalf all over Texas. Every one of them is a champion who has competed at the highest level in his field. I am honored to have them on my team."

The addition of so many Sports Champions to the Roger Williams team gives Williams an advantage in covering Texas, but more importantly, helps the Republicans reach out to new voters who may have not been interested in politics before.

"These sports stars have an appeal that transcends politics," said Williams. "If Republicans want to hold this Senate seat, we must find innovative ways to connect with new voters. These new endorsements, combined with the non-traditional endorsements I have announced previously, will help reach voters we could never reach before. These supporters have already brought out voters to my campaign events who have never been to a political event in their lives. That will only expand with these eight new endorsements."
